Nepali Community in Maidstone Delivered HAEP & Charity Dinner on 30/04/2017

Maidstone Gurkha Nepalese Community (MGNC), in partnership with Nepalese Doctors Association in the UK (NDAUK), delivered successfully the health awareness and education programme and charity dinner as fund raising event on 30th April 2017 at Market Hall in Maidstone town centre. HAEP was held in the first session (12:00 to 17:00) where as dinner event was held from 18:00 until 22:30.

The purpose of the event was mainly to help train more Auxiliary Nurse Midwives for safe childbirth in remote village of Nepal as initiated by NDAUK and few also to support Mayor Charity Fund by the MGNC.

Chairman Maj. Retd. Dudh Prasad Gurung, with his executive team, coordinated the event on behalf of MGNC where as Dr Sumindra Pun was fully involved and coordinated from NDAUK side to make the event successful. Nepalese community ladies team with its chair Mrs Minu Gurung and other members of the Nepalese community in Maidstone have huge contribution in delivering overall programme. Large number of Gurkha veterans were presented in the day event in order to benefit from health awareness briefing and presentations mainly by the NDA team.

Chief guests his excellency the Ambassador of Nepal Dr Durga Bahadur Subedi and Councillor Derek Butler, the Mayor of Maidstone, NDA representative, representatives from Nepalese Nursing Association and large numbers from Maidstone Nepalese community, media representative including BFBS were among the guest in the dinner programme. Nepalese traditional foods, cultural dances and songs were main activities during the dinner.
