New Year Message from Chairman MNC
Wishing you all a very happy new year 2016 and hope the new year brings peace, prosperity and happiness in your life.
On behalf of the Executive Committee, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for all the help and support you have given throughout this glorious, yet challenging year 2015, for the good and benefit of your own Maidstone Nepalese Community.
In early 2015 we were shocked and shattered by the devastating earthquake that has killed and injured thousands of human lives and over 470 thousands of houses were destroyed in our motherland Nepal. I am pleased to let you know that we gave our best shot in providing immediate relief aid and managed to collect over £26000. We must be very proud that we were the first Nepalese community from UK to send the very first load of immediate lifesaving items via air cargo to one of the most affected areas (Sindhupalchowk) that was distributed through the help of Bibeksil Nepali organisation. Once again I like to thank you to everyone for their sterling effort and support in achieving this fantastic support.
As in the past we also continued to practice and celebrate our culture/festivals in style and even managed to entertain and keep close link with our invaluable, key personalities within the MBC and KCC. Despite our busiest ever schedule we also managed to squeezed in a very successful charity event in support of the local charities (Kent Air Ambulance, Involve Kent (MCSC) and Alzheimer’s Society) – again heartfelt thank you to everyone for the outstanding contribution and help towards these great causes.
More recently we were deeply saddened and lost one of our invaluable and immensely talented member, late Mrs Kamal Kandawa (w/o Dhan Bahadur Yunghang Limbu). I like to thank to everyone for providing condolences and support to the bereaved family at the time when supports and comfort are needed most.
Finally, no doubt the new year will be even challenging than 2015 and I plea for your continuous support and help to ensure the year 2016 will be as successful as the 2015 if not better but only through your help or with the application of our Moto “Unity in Diversity”
Please note: Your attendance at this year’s AGM on Sat 16 Jan 2016 is critically important to ensure we successfully set our goals and targets for year 2016. So please, please give your best effort to attend the meeting to ensure your voices are heard and valued for the good and benefit of your own community, MNC.
See you on the AGM on 16 Jan 2016,
